Hatheway Labour Monument

Project: Hatheway Labour Monument - "April 28 Day of Mourning Monument"

Location: W. Frank Hatheway Lily Lake Pavilion, Rockwood Park, Saint John, NB.

The OSCO Construction Group is proud to have donated their efforts towards the construction of this important labour monument.  Warren Franklin Hatheway was a labour advocate who lived in Saint John, NB from 1850-1923.  The administrators of the "Hatheway Trust" consist of members of the Saint John District Labour Council, and the Building and Construction Trades.  In conjunction with these administrators and the Saint John Horticultural Association, the Lily Lake Pavilion was restored, and renamed to honor Mr. Hatheway.  The monument is located in front of the Pavilion and was unveiled on April 28, 2011, the National Day of Mourning in Canada, to commemorate workers who have been killed, injured, or suffered illness due to workplace related hazards and incidents.
